Regional Sales Executive

Job Type: Full-time 40 hours a week - Mon-Friday

Maritime Delivery Services (MDS) is an intermodal trucking company with 5 offices in the. MDS has been in business since 2007 providing safe, reliable service with dedicated staff and business-oriented independent contractors.

Within our organization, regional sales managers are responsible for sourcing new business opportunities that align with our revenue and service objectives and for maintaining and growing the business relationships with existing customers. The ideal candidate will keep up to date and attain a thorough understanding of regulatory and company policies and strive for business process improvements. Strong business relationship building, analytical research, problem solving, verbal and written communication, and MS Office skills are desirable. Regional Sales Executive will have the opportunity to work with multiple terminals in the company to learn about the specific operations and tailor the business development to best meet the customers and MDS requirements.

Regional Sales Executive Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop new customers using all available sources.
  • Meet with customers to discuss needs and assess quality of the relationship.
  • Provide assistance to external/internal customers with regard to inland transportation and rates.
  • Assist with collections for delinquent customers.
  • General Office duties.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of how to source new business opportunities using online resources, existing customer lists, cold calls.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of computers, phones, MS office etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years domestic intermodal trucking experience.
  • 2 years trucking business development experience.
  • Industry related or transferable knowledge/education.
